In my opinion, and that's all it is, I believe that 2007-2009 HHR's are the best years for throttle response and overall driving "fun".

My '06 isn't unpleasant to drive, neither is the 2011, but they lack the "sparkle" of the mid production model years.

it's good to know I'm not alone in this and that it's fairly normal. For gas mileage I try to ease onto the freeway, but there is ususally so much traffic coming down from Canada that I've always got to step on it. For some reason, Canadian drivers won't move over to let you on, so I have to goose it or fall behind. (not hammering you northern neighbors, my grandson is Canadian, just stating facts).

This not moving over thing is more or less the norm around big cities. It's just their way of venting their frustrations with their miserable dog-eat-dog lives on other people. Sorry, this one of my pet peeves, that and people in the left lane pacing the car in the right lane going under the speed limit.

By the law in most states.....

While I understand your frustration, the thru traffic has no obligation to move over one lane to the left for you to enter. The legal burden is on the vehicle entering into the flow of traffic to merge, without interference, with that traffic.

But as a courtesy, I can understand and do allow merging traffic some leeway.

With "courtesy" being the operative word. I feel sorry for people who have lost simple civility toward others.

Agreed Czechman & Snoopy. You don't have to pull over to let others enter the freeway, I do because so many drivers don't even look back, they figure they have the right-of-way to move onto the freeway, and hell with anybody in their way. That's why I move over, I don't want to deal with those idiots. One driver on a long on ramp stayed right beside me and moved over without looking even though I was leaning on the horn, I had take evasive action.

You reminded me of a situation years ago. I was trying to get off at an exit when this kid comming on was determined to get in front of me, he had a Yeild sign, and I decided that he was going to get on properly behind me, which is what most normal people would do. He stayed right beside me and had to go back down the exit ramp. This exit is hard to get turneed around to get back on. I just went to the next exit got off and went home.
