Losing oil

I just bought my 08 HHR about a month ago and it loses oil like mad. I drove it for 2 weeks after my oil change and i had to put it nearly 4 more quarts of oil. I think its a leak and have the dye and everything to determine where this leak might be. However, i noticed when looking into the air intake hose that there was oil just inside, and all over my throttle body. The oil seemed to be coming from the hose that connects to the engine where a pcv valve would be. Any ideas on what that may be and how I can fix it?

two weeks equals how many miles driven?
Is there visible smoke from the exhaust while driving?
Is the inside of the tailpipe wet with oil?
Do you routinely park in the same spot? Is there must be a sizable stain on the driveway or ground?
Any pictures to share?

Sounds like the trouble my friend's 1950 Chevy straight 6 had back in the day. Burned more oil per mile than gasoline.
Fill the crankcase oil daily. Check the fuel level add weekly.

The oil is being sucked out of the valve cover. I cleaned the cover in hot water and Dawn , others replaced tge valve cover.

You likely have more than one issue. Some of the oil loss is through the PCV system, but I bet most is an external leak. That's a whole lot of oil loss. If it was all internal leaking(PCV, bad rings, etc.), your catalytic converter would be ruined.

Look at the oil pressure sending unit(above the starter) and the front and rear main seals.

Clean everything up so you can see where the leak is. Don't use engine degreaser, as it is corrosive to the aluminum engine.

Look at the front cover seal, that tends to sling oil past the harmonic balancer onto the road as you drive.
Oil pressure sending unit leaves lots of oil near the starter.
Oil pan oil leaks can be very messy, there is no gasket just RTV .

How long were you driving without oil? 4 quarts low is not good.
