It's not the same issue. That's not to say any of us can't get stung by an electronic malfunction or a bad module but to imply that he will????? I don't get it....

Now I'm the one that going to say "I'm not trying to be a jerk here" but you took an immediate dislike for his HHR, for some reason, and you've never seen it and know very little about it.....

Let him enjoy his car
No Greybeard' I didn't take a dislike specifically to his car. He was asking for an opinion and I gave mine. I DO NOT tend to "flutter" around on an issue. I speak my peace without allowing prejudice to sway my logic......even if I own the same vehicle (trouble free) and strongly support the manufacturer. I also supplied my reasoning and provided a link to a RECENT thread discussing a problem. I DID NOT imply anything....i.e. "...one idea......there are many more, do a search".

If you do not like my opinion....tough!! You do not need to like, or as you say, "get it", because it was not directed to you. But it is mine and I stand by it. I might be wrong and I really do hope so. But only time will tell.

Good luck to you, Mikey'.

The "opinion" Mike was asking about in his first post was about acceleration.....

Yeah yeah yeah, Snoopy, you're gonna tell us you "refuse to be politically correct", right? That's a euphemism for "I say whatever I damn please, and don't care about collateral damage". You ragged on the guy's decision to buy the car..after he bought the car. That's kind of late in the discussion, don't you think? Maybe you'd like to advise me I should've bought the black SS I saw instead of the red one now, eh?

Hey Mikey. Sorry, I didn't see this thread until now, and I might have been able to throw some input in.... I have a 1999 Lumina as a winter car, and I've had it for 4 years now. That car has a great engine, so that's why going to the little 2.2 seems sluggish. The Lumina has a lot of pep for a 6 cylinder, so I think we've been spoiled by it. Nothing wrong with the 4 banger in the HHR, but just not as peppy.

May I ask what dealer you bought it from? Only reason I ask is because I'm from the area. Live in Frankenmuth, go to school in Flint....

The most unfortunate part of it is I got it from RPM auto sales. Wasn't my first choice because Simms cheverolet wouldn't approve me for the finance and another place wanted full coverage insurance which I couldn't afford.

So far my car is great and yes I do miss my lumina now. I'm just glad that it isn't in the Junk yard like I was told it would be.
