Rudy, if we don't try it won't happen but vendors helping would come in quite handy. Just look at the event Pat is pulling off . That man can work wonders!!!

Great Idea Mike and like you said its a start but we would need GM's help on this One.

I guess you can see already why this hasn't happened already.

I'm still willing. We can't expect the vendors to shoulder the whole thing. Why should they even try unless we as members show an interest?

I think with over 4000 members we're big enough to do this.

GM's help would be nice, but I think it can be done without it.

I think we'd need to show them the potential first, and then maybe get them to join in.

And you're right, Pat, and others, have shown what can be done with hard work and a little OCD! LOL!!

Well, if we could get some kind of foundation laid I would be more than willing to contact the vendors that supplied stuff for our Cedar Point Meet.

Well, I'm a tiny vendor.

I can't speak for them, but I've talked to Bill at HHR Boutique a few times and I'm guessing they'd like to be involved.

We would need to follow Pat's example though and just go after everybody. If we limited ourselves to just the vendors here, we would even have enough for prizes, trophies and goodie bags.

I think this is very possible for late spring, early summer.

One could have the main event on a given weekend but during the week leading up to the event individual cruises could come from different corners of the country. We have done this with our street rods, four or more cruises each with a week long agenda and a cruise sponsor/leader, come in and meet in Omaha. Anyone who can`t do a cruise can still go directly to the main event.

Just start planning it and see what happens. You know you're gonna have people who say it's too far to travel no matter where it is. Right now it looks like the majority of folks responding live within a reasonable distance of Branson.

Just to get a prospective on what you will see as far as distance...here's some info from mapquest.com

Denver to Branson - 810 miles or thereabouts (12 hours...that's workable)
Los Angeles to Branson - 1654 miles or thereabouts (24 hours)
Rochester to Branson - 1024 or thereabouts (16 hours)

I'm definitely game if that's where it is...and it seems like the folks in the Mid Central are pretty good at putting these things together, so I say why not. No matter where you have it, you're going to have people who don't want to travel that far.

Remember the saying from the movie Field of Dreams..."If you build it, they will come."
