Single Car Carport?

Hey guys, my car is constantly getting demolished by my sprinklers, and I'm trying to find a solution. The thing is, where I live now, it is very windy + high dust content... Not good. I've tried tweaking the sprinklers, parking my car in different spots (about 5 different spots..) etc. Nothing has worked, and I simply cannot be here every time to move my car before the sprinklers come on.

I mean, after ONE sprinkling, my car looks horrible. So I was wondering if anyone here has purchased a car port that you simple put in your driveway, and if so which brand. I've been looking on a few websites, and all of these seems to be much larger than I need, I only need a single car carport. Also, if it's canvas on the sides and not metal, do those even hold up well?

Thanks,
Travis

Are you talking about one of those canvas portable one or a metal type? If the canvas, you'll get tired of taking it up and down all the time. Winds kill them.

Well I'd like it to be fairly permanent, the main factor I need is something that covers the sides to keep the sprinkers off. And since I've recently moved to a windy city, wind also needs to be taken into consideration.

I know your area fairly well, and you are correct there is a lot of wind. Anything that is only semi-permanent will probably not withstand the winds. What about a cover, I know its a pain to put on and take off every day, but it costs a lot less than building a car port. That hard water is tough on the finish.

I've had a Cover-it quanset style garage (tent style) for 12 years now, wind and snow have never been a problem.

Want a mess for your car. We live in a farming area and between the dust from working the fields and driving gravel roads and now needles and leaves falling there is no way to keep a car clean. I can spend all day washing it and the next day it looks like crap without leaving the driveway.

I have used the cheapy tent from PEP boys (usually around 79 dollars on sale) to keep bird droppings and pollen off my car very successfully. I used self taping metal screws at every junction then bolted it to my house, the plastic top will not take a snow load but does work great 9 months out of the year. They do make sides for it or you could hang a tarp off the sides.

Reset the sprinklers to come on when you are not home.
