Brings back memories of winter 2000/01 when we had this freak winter and over 600 cm of snow (about 235 inches) fell over the course of the winter. At any point we had between 6 and 8 feet on the ground. It was impossible to find places to put snow when trying to clear your driveway. We had a storm or two every week and generally once a week everything shut down. Wildest winter I ever saw. Thankfully we only get a few feet typically and our temperature hovers back and forth around freezing so it is constantly melting and packing down so it rarely would look like your picture.

Holy mackeral Mike...I take it those are 3 separate trees. Are those in your neighborhood? It's a good thing your HHR's weren't parked where that motorhome was.

I had to start my trip home to Louisiana from Janesville, WI the day after the storm. The interstate from Rockford to about Bloomington was still absolutely horrible (packed snow with patches of ice and slush) but my HHR handled like a charm. LOW TRACTION light came on once going up a hill. The biggest challenge was dodging the huge sheets of ice flying off of 18-wheelers when the interstate traffic finally got up to normal speeds.

I got to see a good cross-section of the storm's effects during the trip.

It's 8 days to Christmas and today I was outside today in a jean jacket.

I live in the second coldest capital city in the world, and I was wearing summer clothes!!! This is just wacked.

My wife's boss was telling her about her son asking about the (lack of) snow. She says, "how do you explain global warming to a 5 year old that wants snow on the ground for Christmas?"

Nice picture Tom! I never knew there was snow in Hawaii. But, anywhere you have mountains, you have a chance of snow.
