Well, I was going to simply ignore them...but now I have to murder them all.
Ever since I moved close to Lake Erie, we have had to learn to live with the various spiders that seem to thrive off the gnats and lake flys that are also part of living in this area. I have a problem with a sometimes large spider which seem to love my swimming pool. They carry their tiny little younglings on their backs and when you scoop them out of the water. The little ones scatter everywhere. Makes the "midnight swim" a little creepy. The type infesting N's HHR are what we call House Spiders. Anyway, to my point... I have had great success using Ortho Home Defense Max both as an outright spider on-contact killer and as a repellant. I treat the soffets of my house and areas around my garage door twice. Once in late spring and once in late summer. It truly keeps them away. Might try spraying your door jambs and underhood and wheel opening areas. They do not like it and the ones that don't die will abandon your car.
Great idea!! I'll try that tomorrow. It should be a lot easier than my Sevin concoction.
I know about the lake bugs. I'm from NE Ohio myself-between Lorain and Sheffield. Spiders feast on the Canadian Soldiers. You won't see more huge spiders out in force at any other time.
