The 1.4's are not too bad to drive, but the "Fun" Cruze is the 2.0 TDI. Those turbo-diesel engines have gobs of torque, even with the "Hyper Miler" gearing they're saddled with, they will slap you back in the seat from a stop sign.

Now GM just needs to lessen the noise on the upcoming 2016 new design Cruze models, people are grumbling about the diesels sounding like diesels, unlike VW's engines.

P.S. Congrats on the milestone mileage Budster!

$2.99 a gallon is still obscene compared to the "good 'ole days", but I found myself thinking...Oh boy, cheap gas!!

Tomorrow, the '06 has a date with the muffler guy and a welder, no more bad flex joint.
In 1948 I bought a Fore 3 window coupe gas was $0.12 a gallon could take Coke bottles at 2 cents each for gas money to go to the beach O for the good ole days but I will stay here for now.

Well ya know what they say Jay, "The Good Old Times Are Really Over For Good".(I think that's a song title, but enough things have gone pear shaped at work today to make me doubt my sanity)

I remember Grandpa Joe's tales of a Saturday afternoon here before the war.

He'd put some gas in his Model B Ford, pick up my Grandma to be, go to the Gem Theatre(still in business and going strong since 1936, it's the oldest single screen motion picture house stiil operating in the U.S.), and then they'd go for barbecue and a Coca-Cola. All that for 35 cents.

Try to get anything for 35 cents these days.

P.S. Glad to hear you're liking your new Chrysler.

Only if someone mentions Richie and the Fonz, oops!

Got my '06 back with its new flex joint welded in, how nice to lose the "Rice 'O Matic" sound and get back to the usual Magnaflow burble.

I did have fun with the muffler shop's "shop truck", a hopped up 300cid Ford six goes pretty well in a short bed 2wd F-150.

Washed it yesterday. Today and the rest of the week will just sit in parking lot as I work this week and drive the Colorado P/U.
