Entered into the local papers ride of the week and won. Pretty cool. Also got a new set of 225/40/18 Nexen tires installed.
Great tires, quiet, smooth ride and pretty good grip. But the shop didnt use torque stops on the impact when they put them on. Got back home to loosen all the lugs and torque to spec and snapped my half inch to three eights inch step down.

Congrats on the contest
Ouch on the over torque problem.

Today I drove the HHR to transfer my Sweetie from her hospital room in St. Catharines to the cancer hospital in Hamilton , Ontario.
The transfer ambulance service couldn't provide service till late this evening, and the Dr. In Hamilton wanted her there for 2:30 pm, so Oldblue subbed for it and Sweetie had a comfortable ride and listened to her music her way !
I played her some Roy Orbison, Robert Palmer, Beatles and Traveling Wilbury's then ELO, and Tom Petty, she choked up abit with The Guess Who.
Sweetie will be in hospital for four to six weeks for treatment.

Steve, you and Helen are in all of our thoughts and prayers, and judging from your note the other day...you both have the right mental attitude to face this deal head on and kick its butt around the block.

My apologies for being a bit invisible this week, the time difference from Berlin to the U.S. isn't a huge deal, but except for meals and umm..potty breaks. My butt has been in an Airbus A319-A321 simulator almost constantly, and these German instructors are cruel task masters.

But on the upside, I've seen two HHR's on the road over here, one black SS and a maroon LS.

Maybe that was fellow member Butcherman?
Are you sure that's a flight simulator and not just your Xbox?

I just drove the trip from home in Welland to Hospital in Hamilton, today Sweetie starts her treatment, and kicking cancers butt to the curb and around the block!!!!
I've known this gal since 1963 and man she is cantankerous when she puts her mind to a project!!!
Her realistic goal is remission and the Dr. Said there is a very strong 70% chance she will achieve that goal, but Sweetie is a fighter not a quitter
At 6 pm today your time where ever you are please slide your Queen CD in the radio box and crank up "We are the Champions" !
She'll hear it!
Thanks!

Hmm...ya know Oldblue I never even thought of Butcherman, oops! Could have looked him up.

Kinda funny you mentioned the Xbox gadgets, since the Airbus family of 319-321's use "Side Stick Controllers"(joysticks in other words), the Sim instructors from Lufthansa say that younger pilots who are "gamers" can make the transition easier.

Us old "Control Yoke" pilots tend to take longer to get used to the utterly disconnected feel of flying a great big plane, with a four inch multi-function stalk instead of what we're used to. Why am I getting certified to fly an Airbus, well let's just say that the great big banking firm I fly for has repossessed ten A-320's, and they'd like them all flown to Charlotte.

It's 4:45 pm here in Germany, and my flight home leaves at 6:30 pm local time, so I'll do the double for your Sweetie. I'll play "We Are The Champions on my i-phone here, and when I'm back in Carolina, roughly 11 hours hence, I'll put Queen's Greatest Hits in the CD slot and crank that song for her on the drive home.

You two will kick this cancer in the teeth, and we're all puling for you!

I'm running Tiger Paw GTZ's and that white lettering looks great, what are y'all using?

The one thing I've missed with my HHR's is the lack of available White Lettered tires without having to muck about with a "compromise" tire size and the attendant speedo errors and clearance issues with the front spring perches.
