What Did You Do To Your HHR Today?
There is an air show around here every year and they take people up for flights. I happen to be out in the boonies where these planes circle around to head back to the airport... Sounds like the old war shows I watched as a kid, like "12 O'clock High"... I keep waiting for the bombs...
On topic... Friday is my "Go over and visit with Dad, day" He's 94. Man! I don't wanna get that old... Seriously!
Anyways... There's several backroad twisty sections along this drive that are a little hard to resist taking at less than 80+ (Maxed out at 110 one day going over the whoop-d-doos
Poor ricer behind me couldn't hang with the HHR) This car is he!!a fun. Living out in the country has it's benefits... Other than the obvious "peace and quiet".

Man I tell you I surprise people daily on the highway. Normally I Cruise at 55 but people who mess with me since my hhr is orange with black stripes don't expect the car to pull away so hard at speed. The 2.4 auto isn't gear well for off the line pulls, but Gregg is damn quick if punching it from a roll. I try to keep it civil. But I just have to prove the fart cans and other econo boxes wrong sometimes. Had a guy in a 90's cobra get really mad because he couldn't get away from me. He had to drop it down a gear or two and gun it Lmfao. I never really even floor it I usually go to about 75/80 percent throttle. Gregg is an old boy haha

Today it's out to the country for a coffee with friends and teach a youngin how to service the tractor. He's 23 and never got grease under his finger nails!!
He'll have fun remembering all the grease points!

I stopped by to gaze at it and promise I'd come back
It's so hard to know it's just a few miles away and I can't explore it the way I want.
But, come Monday, it's coming home with me!

Thanks RJ, tires are just 4,500 miles old, I looked at tires and rotated them on Thursday, same shake on Saturday, I'm thinking axles because, I replaced the hubs before trip to Florida in April, had the same shake, it shook the steering wheel and the rack input shaft was loose and walking a 1/4 inch or more up the worm gear in the input shaft. So I replaced the steering rack, now this shake is at highway speeds when I have to decelerate when I'm approaching traffic or see a Kodiak with a Kodak up ahead.
My thoughts are tire balance would follow the unbalanced tire , when I moved them to the rear.
Engine mounts look good , no flex , and I check torque when I replaced the steering rack.
I'll keep y'all posted

Took my HHR for a trip to Davidson today, specifically wanted to see what it would do for gas mileage. Its pretty hard to drive at 110 and not get deeper into the turbo, thanks goodness for cruise control. I was pretty surprised to see this thing run between 47 and 55 mpg. The instant mileage reading running at 5 to 6L/100km. Pleasantly surprised thats for sure.
So far just running around town, have had a few Mustangs and some kind of loud Honda want to race, pretty funny.
