Well, thank you for your well wishes!
Today, we’re in , again, Dan and his son Dillon came over, the boy washed and dried the Sunfire GT and the HHR, then did a nice job with a microfibre cloth and spray detailer. Shiny and sparkly!
Dan spent a half hour installing the new tail lights, a set of IPCW Ruby Reds , a sort of ninth anniversary and Christmas present to Oldblue.
They fit perfect, he took pictures and sent them to me so I could confirm the wiring was correct, then he pulled the HHR up a little in the driveway to show me, all the lights work and no fast flash.
I saw these on the_shmoo’s ride a couple times and mentioned to Sweetie, how the top and bottom light up! She thought like a Dodge Caravan, but no these are way cooler!
Wait, both top and bottom light up now? I need these lights in my life!
Maybe wrong spot for this post; More like What COULD/SHOULD you do to your HHR.
2008 LS 2.2 5spd I've owned for 9 months.
Enjoy most all the posts and pictures to learn about my ride.
Question? is; What can or should be done first to improve the handling and braking? Has new (monroe) struts and shocks. Tires are marginal. 215/55/SR16
At our local lake there is a large paved parking area with a bit of sand on it where I can exercise a safe high speed power turn and it's a scary hold on feeling over 45mph.
New tires first.
What else to make this handle and stop more like and SS then a basic piece of GM transportation?
I’m still very happy with mine! The KYB’s and Canuck Motorsports springs help a lot, then there’s the Moog LCA rear bushing bearings, they helped a lot.
adjusting the rear drum brakes and swapping up to SS non Brembo brakes made a huge difference. But that my seat of the pants driving fun meter!
I still like to freak out the neighbors, with a slick power slide then back up into my driveway, best done in snow!
Drove it back from Florida. Made it to Bowling Green, Kentucky about midnight. Got up this morning and drove the rest of the way to Michigan. There's snow here, but nothing like Old Blue got.
