I see yours is an automatic, mine too. My L/F bearing went bad and the way I tested for it was to jack up that side under the control arm, put in drive and at idle speed spun it. Leave the other on the ground. You'll hear it if it's bad.
I should have used a axle slide hammer to get the hub off. Steel and aluminium don't play well together. Hitting the flange with a 4 lb hammer got it off but not as easy.

I replaced my broken driver's door handle Saturday with the metal replacement. I ordered all 4 so when the others break I'll have them on hand. Referenced in this thread.

Today , loaded up the empty wobbly pop bottles and cans, to return to get refunds.
I learned our subdivision was ransacked some time last night, cars jimmied open, everything not nailed down was stolen.
Thankfully , we’ve been thru this a few years back. I don’t leave anything in the HHR and make sure it’s locked.
So, far 17 cars or trucks where involved.

Stopped by the local Chevy dealer to get a spare oil drain plug washer (just the washer). Figured it couldn't be that expensive. The guy at the counter said they didn't keep them in stock but he could order one. Said it was $4.31 for 1 rubber washer !
He said they did have the complete drain plug WITH washer for $4.34. Don't know where they get their crazy pricing from.

I got the drain plug W/washer.

Cat Man- Yep mines' automatic also. I wanna take the wheel off & swing up the caliper, check the pads, then spin the front L hub again. I just wanna check the brakes & be sure it's a wheel bearing if all else is good.

Appreciate the input, I will test it thoroughly. And I have a hub puller to get the axle free, then get out my Dad's old slide hammer, I've had that since he passed in 1979....

I don't think it's brakes, my hunch is wheel bearing. Just wanna make sure before I order a set. But only have 33K on it.. And I would apply a thin coat of anti-seize on the spindle bore before re-assembly.

What's a good source for wheel bearings w/ABS ? Rock Auto is really expensive from a quick look.
