Shoo’d a squirrel from under the BlackSwan this morning, I opened the hood and checked for any chewing marks on the wire harness, made a squirt bottle of warm water and Irish Spring soap, the sprayed the engine bay, cleaned out the peanut shells from the valve cover area.
Nutz to that squirrel, my neighbour stopped by asking what I was doing and said she puts the nuts out for the blue jays and cardinals, didn’t think about squirrels! Her car has some chew marks in the ignition coil wires!

Took my new grocery getter to get some groceries!

Also got my VA state inspection done, so I'm legal.

An SS like that, so much fun to drive, it can’t be legal! Can it?

Funny you should say that. It's waaaay too easy to go fast in this thing! I know the 0 - 60 time is 6.3 seconds, but it feels quicker than that. And the handling is surprisingly good - it loves the twisty roads we have here in abundance.

I have to say that this is the most fun I've had driving a car in a very long time. You're right - it almost feels illegal!!

My truck is in for squirrel damage right now and since the HHR wiring repairs I had done a month and a half ago it has received more damage...

Got'em.

There are a couple if curb rash marks but not bad enough to worry about.

Being that you are a new member here, are you aware of the "unique" LCA's for the SS models ? I hope you are and ordered the correct ones.
Anyhow. Here's some info from the sites Common Parts List:
Lower Control Arm - SS models ONLY (FE5 suspension)
IMPORTANT: they are only available thru GM - No after-market suppliers make a compatible part at this time, even though they may say the parts they have are for all HHR's
- GM - P/N: 25930724 - Right
- GM - P/N: 25930725 - Left
(note: Do NOT substitute a FE1 or FE3 LCA - the ball joint stub on them is 20MM and is not compatible with the spindle on a FE5/SS which is 20.5MM)
