What Did You Do To Your HHR Today?
Not a blessed thing, unless you can call ordering goodies from Griot's Garage doing something with them. Thanks to my back laying me up today, nothing with wheels has moved, oh well....the Monday morning traffic jams on I-85 and I-485 are highly overrated anyway.
The mail has arrived with this month's Car & Driver, Automobile, and Motor Trend so I have something to occupy me until the other half burbles home in and hour.

Well I Tried to hand wash my Panel the other day and was gonna claybar it, but after being Sunny all day the clouds rolled in as I filled the 2 buckets up and added car wash soap to one, and as soon as I had them ready, it started to thunder and lightning then rained some Huge rain drops for about 30 minutes.
That axed the car wash idea, so yesterday I got it hand washed, and then late last night I set up some lights and did the claybar thing. Nice and smooth again.
I do have some Swirl marks that I HATE having , but it's just too danged Hot out to buff the Panel out.
Maybe it will cool down enough before it gets dark out and I can buff the whole car out. Then I want to give it a good hand wax.
And this afternoon I Dusted it off with a Turtle Wax Duster. (Same thing as the "califoria duster" basically.)
Washed and Clay Barred. (Needs a Buff for some Swirl Marks)

Notice, I Removed the dealer applied Vinyl pinstripes.

Nice Job A&P! I was bored yesterday and did the clay bar, then used a two step process from turtle wax called the "Black Box". Only for black cars of course. The pre-wax, carnuba wax and even the black quick detailer are pigmented black, fills in those swirls great! Todd (Uma)

Thanks.
My first time using a Meguiars claybar Kit. It did its job of Smoothing the surface of anything that was sticking after the hand wash.
We used to just grab the Buffer and use the Right pad with the Right product to remove that air bourne sticky stuff.
I Never use those "filler" type products, they semi work, but in reality, the swirls or scratches or whatever you have, are still there just masked (hidden) until the product washes or wears off.
From my body and fender days, I like to Remove them fully, then use a polish then a good wax.
I use 3M and Meguiars products. In my bodyshop days it was All 3M stuff. Now I use alot of Meguiars pro bodyshop line and the consumer line.
I get Good results with the Meguiars.
Those pics were just taken of my Panel, after a wash and claybar. I havent Machine Buffed out the swirls (not many, but I know they are there, so it bugs me.) and waxed it yet, once I do that it will really Pop and look wetter and Deeper.
It's overdue for a good hand wax.
