What Did You Do To Your HHR Today?

My day started out with a cruise to my office in Charlotte with Paddy, no traffic jams or anything, I thought it was the start of a good day.
I met a business associate for lunch this afternoon at a semi-swanky downtown Charlotte restaurant, one with valet parking. Lunch was very good, dessert was delicious, and then the valet returned Paddy with a little surprise.
My heretofore pristine HHR was returned to me dragging the lip spoiler on the ground and lovely set of gouges in the lower valance....oh joy, oh happiness...NOT! When rounded up the attendant who parked Paddy admitted to "maybe hitting something", well no @#%$ buddy!
Now I have three estimates from some very competent body shops all hovering around $750. No its time to see how long the valet company's insurance takes to send me a check, hopefully not too long, I can be a very grumpy lawyer when I want to be.
So the Paddy-Wagon is on the DL for the time being, and I need a beer or two.

The thing that surprises me most, well besides the stupidity of the whole deal, is how much the repair bill is going to be. No wonder a 5mph thump in a supermarket parking lot is enough to total some cars out.
Oh well, it could have been much worse, and it'll be fixed by one of the best body shops on the east coast....but it'll be a chilly day in hell before I eat at that restaurant again.

Yeah, I'm not fond of it sleeper, but in Charlotte its unavoidable unless you want to walk ten blocks from where you parked. This is the first time I've had any damage occur, better be the last time too.

Did similar, but rear end, damage to mine (with only 300 miles on it at the time!) and figured $700 - $800 easy. Was pleasantly surprised when one of the best shops in our area quoted $454 - under my deductible! They did the job a few weeks ago - 4 days downtime - and it came back exactly like new. Challenge anyone to find the damage/work. I was very pleased as I had only myself to blame for the damage (added round mirrors to both outside factory mirrors - helps a ton in seeing exactly whats behind me when backing. $8 for the mirrors - $454 for the lesson that I needed them. Hope your repair goes as well & as seamlessly when completed & returned. Good luck.

I'm thinking the shop I'll be using will do a fine job, they are I-Car platinum certified and the exotic car dealers use them for Ferrari's and Lambo's when the rich kids bend them.
Glad to hear yours came out as good as new, these things happen in life, but as you know...we really could do without them.
