Exciting drive to the dealer for me. Having the lower TMAP wires redone and the loom one dealer left 1/2 off done right (long story, but let's say one dealer's NOT as good as the other, arghhh). That should get rid of my P0236 code!

Alex if you are having trouble with the lower hitting the condenser might want to do what my dealer did. They made a bracket to hold it from moving that far.

Cranked up Paddy and headed down to the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport FOB to pick up a set of new tires for the Cessna. Goodyear Flight Custom III's which promise 20% more landings than the old Flight Custom II's, now if they were only 20% more than the old tires I'd be thrilled, as it was the old Visa was smoking when they handed it back.

Now the tires are mounted on the Cannibal Queen waiting for Friday's flight north(even more Visa card smoke). Had a snotty TSA agent ask me why I needed a "chrome exhaust on my PT" when they checked under Paddy for bombs, had to correct him that the system is polished stainless, and that it wasn't something I "needed" it was something I wanted...and this is a Chevy HHR....NOT a PT loser!

So Paddy is safely tucked away for the night, the Queen is safely tucked in for the night with her new shoes, and my Visa card is in the freezer cooling off.

Got that tire plugged today and found out that whoever rotated the tires last didn't update the tire monitors to go with the new locations. Headed outside to fix that now.

843, excuse me for laughing. I and my sick sense of humor find the statement funny...

" which promise 20% more landings....."....landings, landings as opposed to what, crashes?

Take no offense, I've been house sitting for my daughter for 3 days. She's getting a new kitchen. So I'm almost comotose...I've done my stock market stuff early.

Yup 20% more landings, aircraft tires have a legally defined lifespan so more landings is a bonus feature. It all has to do with tread depth and casing strength versus weight and projected cycles before the tires have to be condemned. Landings really stress the tires to their max, the tires are ice cold when you touch down and they are expected to accelerate to 120-140 mph in an instant while taking the load of the aircraft.

It makes them rather expensive for how utilitarian and boring they appear to be, but I'd rather hear the familiar yelp of the mains touching down, than that awful scrunch when the fuselage smacks the tarmac.

But I'll have to admit that "20% more landings" sounds pretty dumb on the face of it, kinda chips away at the heroic image of us pilots doesn't it?

Just spent $100.00 on a new battery and had to swap it out in the nice chilly drizzle falling here.

Del attempted to leave work today, and it wouldn't crank over, just clicked.
She wasn't happy having to sit there until we got there to get it going.
Had to jump it, heck of a spark when I hooked up the jumpers.
Definetly pointed to dead battery......

Just glad it happened now, instead of during the trip we're making down to Lexington, Ky. come Friday.
Heading down to see her Mom, she ain't doing to good.

I took the HHR to the car wash today. Then I vacuumed and cleaned out the inside and bought some new rain-x latitude wiper blades.
