I went over it with the clay bar. Tried the Maquire's kit. (I usually get the Mother's kit) I like the Mother's kit better. Seems to work better and the California Gold detailer works better at keeping the clay "lubed" more than the one in the Maquire's kit.
I then resealed the oil pressure gauge line where it goes into the block. Had a slow, slow leak. Maybe a drop every 3 days or so.
I then repainted the front bumper pad black again. It was getting pretty beat up after the last paint job 2 years ago.
I installed my grey/black wheelskin steering wheel cover. Took about 2 hours. I'm very picky with the lacing and fitting of things like that. I laced one spot (abot 1/4 of the wheel) 3 times until happy.
Polished the valve cover again. looking a bit dull since last polished. I finished it up with conditioning the leather seats.
All in prep for the Tail of the Dargon cruise this coming weekend.

I need something to eat now........

On the road at 6am with Paddy, figured I'd get a super early start on Monday since I couldn't sleep, one plus was having I-85 to myself so no chance of the standard issue traffic jam.

My next big decision is where to feed the critter since the "low fuel" message means I won't have the luxury of buying rocket fuel back in Kannapolis as usual. Choices Choices...BP, Marathon, Shell, Exxon, or Kangaroo.

This must have been a "waterfall weekend" as I also swapped my plain Jane waterfall for a spiffier one. Now it's covered in silver dinoc carbon fiber and adds a nice splash of difference to the dash. Took me longer to disconnect everyhing than it did to swap the parts over to the new waterfall and reinstall!

Later

I'm weird I guess, I like my waterfalls just like they left the factory, but the ones I've seen painted always look good.

Heading to lunch with a client, he's got a new Fiat 500, finally get to drive one and satisfy my curiosity. Hopefully Paddington doesn't get too jealous, hell hath no fury like a cheesed off HHR.

Our 06 is at Center Chevrolet getting the catalytic converter replaced (under the 96mo./80000mi. emissions warranty) due to a leak in the 'flexy' area just below where it mounts to the manifold. My wife noticed it last week but today is the first chance we've had to take it in.

We cranked up Paddy and scooted over to Brewster's Ice Cream for sundaes. Sunny and 79 here, perfect weather to sit under some shade trees and eat ice cream while the town snoozed away a quiet afternoon.
I've heard a few "sick Harley's" in my day and every one sounded better than any ricer!! To me, all those screamin weanies sound like a chainsaw on crack. Why yes,of course that's just my opinion! Pretty good analogy tho huh....

Had tires rotated and balanced (free) then received a great compliment on my HHR at the tag office.
