What Did You Do To Your HHR Today?

He dye tested the head after removing the valves and its cracked behind the one intake valve, yippee...a new boat anchor. From pricing reman heads online for the D16z6 engine, I'm almost glad the "rice boys" like them so much, the heads are not that expensive and fairly plentiful.
I'll decide on which supplier to use in the next day or three and order in a head, the deck surface checks true with a steel straightedge so I'm leaving the block in the car.
Oh well, Michelle is attached to the Honda, so I'll get it back on the road...because a happy wife = a happy me!

I ordered tires for her car today, back to topic, instead of mine.
Sleeper, thanks for the tip on the spacers I tried to pm you back and it is giving me an error page.

Tires for the 740, there goes the grilling budget for the month Sam.
So what did you decide to go for on Die schnelle Deutsche maschine?
Only $249 for a head for Wifey's Honda, not too bad, comes with a 24 month/24 thousand mile warranty.

they quit making the tire I was running T1R toyo So i ordered the Gmax since they make a suitable size for the front as well. I managed to wear out the staggered tires in a staggered manner so the front are almost new, just had to get two 275x40x18, it was still a little more than the head.
don't be messing with the grillin budget.

Looks good! And the "Chevrolet" script down the side of the hood
I just readjusted my tire pressures, again, on the HHR. Finally some decent weather from the rain.
After the HHR, I helped by son with his mod of the day on his Subaru Legacy Outback Wagon...
He's got a guy that's going to make a new exhaust from the header back. For the time being, he'll use the standard pipes.
And I agree 100% - a happy wife = a happy me! If mommy ain't happy, ain't no one happy!

Had to stare at that photo for a second before it hit me, Subaru = flat four, that's why it looked so dang odd. They look to be nicely made, just try to talk him out of a fart can muffler, too many "Roo's" driving around here that sound like a cross between a sick Harley and a Moose in heat.
We cranked up Paddy and scooted over to Brewster's Ice Cream for sundaes. Sunny and 79 here, perfect weather to sit under some shade trees and eat ice cream while the town snoozed away a quiet afternoon.
