I have the seat back and down as far as it goes, but I have to sit more vertical because of the manual trans. Even with that, where I sit, If I turn my head to the side without leaning forward a little, I'm staring straight at the seat belt attachment point on the B-pillar.

That's with my head brushing the roof. (I do have a "sun-hole" so I have less clearance)

I'm actually planning on doing the seat bracket to drop the seat another 1"-1 1/2".

My in channels assisted in the appearance of scratches on the top of the glass too.

It has to be the grit, not the plastic in channel rain guard, the window glass is much harder.
I clean my window channel every time I wash my HHR

I agree. Unfortunately, I live in Ohio, and there is NO WAY to keep a car clean enough that that won't occur...

Oh, and there is another issue. If you ever remove them, plan on buying new window seals.

Because they take up more space in the window seal, they deform from their original shape. When removed, the seals don't recover. I have all kinds of wind noise from mine. I just haven't taken the time (and $$$'s) to replace my seals yet.
