Your correct I do not like Autometer gauges they are junk I've had issuses before with their products...I'm thinking of changing mine out anyways. Spoke to Brian Brown the Head G/M for the build his lead engineer is looking into it and calling the service manager where my hhr is at this morning I spoke to Brian about it this morning at 0830. I spoke with a represenative and they seem to think it is a dimmer switch we'll see

 

here's an email i got from my dealer so we'll see tomorrow if this fixes the problem:
Eric, I received a call from technical assistance and they give us a program number to install that is supposed to fix this concern. If you have Lisa drop it off in the morning, we will update the computor and see what happens. JERRY
