You may be right about the HHR's being prone to rear end hits. I was rear ended at a red light the other day. A lady in a new Maxima nailed me at about 25 mph. I was just ready to move forward and my foot was off the brake. It was very loud and I felt like I was drop kicked, moving forward about 10 feet after impact. When I got out, It couldn't believe that the damage was contained to the bumper and the brace behind it. The Maxima bumper lined up perfect, if there is anything positive about being hit. I thought for sure I would have buckled quarter panels after the hit, but looks like it just needs a new bumper. My wife and I had neck and headaches for about a day but we're ok., The little car took it pretty well. I have an 08 Shadow Edition and I'm not crazy about having a replacement bumper with an attempt at matching the Black Granite paint, but.....

IS there something that makes us a target?
It's funny that you guys are mentioning that the HHR is a target for collisions. My brother was over to visit during Valentines Day and was staying at my condo while I was in Vegas that long weekend. He drove his truck and it blew a hole in the muffler when he was about an hour from town and so I let him use my HHR while he was in the city. He picked me up from the airport when I returned and one of the things he said on the way home was that he was almost hit numerous times. He was wondering why there were so many close calls. He said he rarely has any close calls in his truck and that people don't seem to notice the HHR on the road.

So far they have not found her. The repair bill is $523 of which I have to pay the $500 deductable.

She goes in Monday and should have her back Wednesday.

I'm going to call the insurance company if I get a chance and if they havent found anything I'll leave a message for the officer to see if they are going to try to do more.

I do have an address of where the car is registered to so I think a few drive by's are in order!

If the bill is $523 and your deductible is $500, why not just pay the $523 instead of filling a claim? You will spend $23 more up front but your insurance won't go up and you won't have an incident on file.

I wish I had gotten a pic of her but when I was talking to the cops on my cell she said she was leaving and got in her car. I grabbed the pic of the plate.

It IS a crime to leave the scene of an accident.

I also take that route every day M-F to pick up my son from school. I'll keep an eye out for her!

I was just happy to get home and park the car. and have a beer.

Sneezy, keep us posted.... WE WANT JUSTICE!
Glad to hear that you were not hurt but sorry to hear about the battle scar, have another

I called my insurance company and got some better news. They ran the plates and the car that hit me IS insured and has an active policy! They are in process of filing a claim with them. I'm sure it will take a few months but hopefully they can forward the info to the police so they can get her or at least impound the car .

I did a drive by for the addy on the police report and I suspect they may have moved. Either way my insurance company is working in MY best interest. After all, isn't that what we pay them for?

Kudo's to State Farm.
