New Vehicle Break-In
•Do not drive at any one constant speed, fast or slow, for the first 500 miles (805 km). Do not make full-throttle starts. Avoid down shifting to break or slow vehicle.
•Avoid making hard stops for the first 200 miles (322 km) or so. During this time the new break linings are not yet broken in. Hard stops with new linings can mean premature wear and earlier replacement. Follow this breaking-in guideline every time you get new break linings.
•Do not tow a trailer during break-in.......etc. etc.
Following break-in, engine speed and load can be gradually increased.

It's power to weight though that ultimately matters. Those sedans typically weigh a lot more than the 3290lbs that our SS's do. For instance, the V6 Camry with 268hp weighs 3700lbs.
The lb/hp for the HHR SS: 12.6

Even with the stock 260 horsepower (which is a lot, but no more than a lot of family sedans) I feel invincible on the road in my SS. The power delivery is so immediate and linear that it feels like a really strong 260 horses
