My Editorial: Our HHR SS...Keeping Up In Today's World
On 2nd thought, know what?..... A late model Trans Am, depending on package put out between 285-330 HP. Many "muscle cars" played in that range or less. After much reflection, my grocery getting 300+hp 23psi fugly family wagon SS is a muscle car. KA-CHOW!
Meh... I've had lots of high horsepowered RWD V8 cars... a 700whp Z06, 430whp GTO, 340whp Trans AM, etc etc etc... I had a 2008 HHR SS when I had my Z06, and I loved driving my HHR....
This summer I bought a brand new 2013 Ford Focus ST turbo. The dealership ended up buying it back due to issues with it, but I'm back in a HHR SS, and I love it way more than my ST.
It depends on who you are and what you want. Unless you want to impress people...

Not that my opinion matters but I was car shopping a month ago, could have bought a newer buick, turbo,a new Chrysler 2000(0-60 was fast),or dodge dart, was looking at avenger new.
Well it came down to this(was big mopar guy)well still I guess.
I would have really bought a caliber srt cause it was dodge and a fan of srt's
Came across a ss impala(2009) with headers,
Then here it came saw the hhr ss in person and the thing was sweet, almost new
Mind you never crossed my mind to buy one, never got on the gas on test drive didn't care about performance at the time.well I decided it was different, not my style, but it was cool.
Now having it a month,I really really like it.
I bought it for dd as I keep a car already garaged, well now I keep hhr garaged too and now I need more garage's lol.only thing is hhr ss seems little slow I think the turbo lag(first turbo) is hard to get used to,well its automatic too cause I'm old.
Oh I do drive it soon as I get home from work I try to have a life so I have somewhere to drive it.
