Ongoing saga advice or tips when replacing head

Good morning.

I had a brand new water installed and water pump has failed. It warped where bolts up to the block. It was repaced under warranty but nowalso leaks between head and block and they wont cover.

I bought a new complete ac delco head, gaskets and head bolts.

Any tips or advice when removing and installing the head? Ive done other cars in past.

Will be working on it next week.

Thanks in advance.

John

Wording is strange to me for a person that has done other mechanical repairs.
"brand new water installed and water pump has failed"

I could go on, but I won't.

What was replaced under warranty? What won't "they" cover, why should"they"? What is a "brand new water"?

I would replace the timing chain and guides while I was in there.

Thanks Oldblue and Donbrew. I am going to do the timing chain as well. Have you had any experience with the Cloyes timing kit vs the AC Delco parts? Thanks again for your helpful advice.

The waterpump was installed at a GM specialist shop. It was and AC Delco replacement. The warranty replacement covered a new waterpump that was not part of the same batch that had warping problems. The warranty does not cover reinstallation of the new one or the head problem. However hard to know if the head gasket went first or the waterpump. Now I am going to do the work myself. That's what I get for not doing it the first time to ensure it all is done right....
