Not sure if binding coils and dead coils can be considered the same. Either way, they are designed to touch like that. Best performance spring out there right now.

Having some coils touching is ok, it's for negative compression, helps reduce the bouncing feeling.

Negative? Compression, don't you mean no compression? If the coils touch they are binding or some callit dead coils either way it like a block or spacer and to open coils do all the flexing the shocks would control the bounce of compression and rebound .

Yeah it's like a whole new car for sure. A longer commute today and I took the back roads home which were very rough on the old suspension. I remember being able to see my headlights bounce around in the distance while driving at night and now its nice and firm

So worth the money for these.

What you say is true for most factory springs. Aftermarket lowering springs have to be stiffer so as to not bottom out. Adding progressive weaker coils reduces the bouncing feeling as the spring fully extends after a bump. Its hard to picture unless you see the suspension in full motion.

I guess I just only considered binding coils to be coils that moved inside of another coil, not on top of.

From my understanding. The coils are considered Dead and only rebound on larger bumps in which case they become active for that short time.etc. Binding would be the popping noise you hear when turning, It is catching on the other parts of suspension and twisting.

These coils so far have not been binding

Binding or hitting against each other is what my original rear Pedders did when I had them on my SS. Made for some clunking noises over any medium or larger bumps. Glad to get those off of my car.
