I responded a few weeks ago that problem was the high pressure mechanical pump on engine, tank pump had 70 psi, HP pump only had 600 psi , nobody I talked to had ever seen one go bad [only 56k mi. how about [filter & muffler recommendations]

You never said that you replaced it, just that nobody had heard of it going bad.

Glad you got it fixed, the K&N filter is listed online, you might need to wash it and lightly re oil it.
The muffler question is a matter of tastes, you want dual mufflers, FiremanGeorge has that set up with Flowmaster mufflers
