Should I wait for Camaro V6???
You obviously have done your home work. Have you driven the car
?
I have driven a CTS and I have driven G8's. The Camaro is gonna be very close to both of these cars with minor tweaks/differences and sheet metal.
I used to own a 06 GTO and I am fully aware that the Camaro is nothing more than the update new platform(great platform). The Camaro could be the worlds best car and it will struggle to sell in large numbers. The reason for that is what 16- 25 year old wants a new V6 Camaro when they can buy an Accord,Camry,Mazda 6, Altima, Imprezza, Evo with a V6 or Turbo 4 that will put out the same or better performance numbers?
I hate to admit it but the name "Camaro" or "Mustang" dosen't mean alot to todays young buyers. The people it means alot to are people like me and you that have the $$$ and desire to afford a proper muscle car.
There is 10 cars I would own in the 25K price range over the v6 Camaro (The HHR SS is one of them)
If you think the F Body is going to be GM's saving grace your kidding yourself.

Never said it as GM's saving grace, infact it is a thorn in their side right now. It is the worst time to sell a car like this and they needed it 5 years ago.
The Camaro is close but not the same as the CTS and G8 as it will have better for performance driving.
Also knowing some folks involved in the program and hearing their feedback is very informitive. They have given me good info on what to expect and how they are planning to market the car.
You can chose to like, what you want I really don't care. All I am trying to say is Chevy is going to push the V6 as this is the important car to be the Volume car. The V6 has been the Volume car for the Mustang for years. Scott Settlmire and Cheryls Pilcherl of the Camaro program has made this clear from the start.
So it is not my opinion of what GM should do all I am giving is what GM said they are planning to do.
The only opinion I have is don't discount the V6 till you try one. Have an informed opinion before you get too far out n a limb.
I have yet to drive one but I know people who have and I value their opinon as die hard Camaro owners and fans. All have been impressed with this car and most would have no issue owning one. This is a great change from a 4th gen 3800. Chevy has made it clear they need to sell 100,000 cars a year and the majority will not be V8 cars.
You also might take issue with the press as all the first drives they have are in the V6 car and all came away very impressed.
You are correct on some of you hard sell ideas but the biggest right now is the economy. At least the gas prices are down for now.
You have the right to your opinion just as I have on giving facts from GM and or the people who have driven the car.
So if you want a V8 by all means get one but GM is not planning on making the majority of them V8 cars. Not my opinion but GMs plan. I have the email address to the folks running the program if you want to tell them they are wrong.
I am done with this as we are wasting too much of the others time.
Get the HHR SS. Quick, great on gas, looks different, Roomy and easy to get in and out of, halls a lot of luggage, handles like a dream, and is very quiet inside at all speeds. Oh, will hit 100 mph stock in the 1/4 mile but the 1/4 mile E/T will vary. LOL
In the wake of the recent gas spike, fuel economy will be an all too-important factor for a car's inclusion in a mfr's line. It must get better fuel economy and GM would like to sell Camaros overseas, which upcharges larger enginge displacements. You get the idea. Don't be surprised if there is a 2.0L Turbo Ecotech maybe in the 2011 or more probably 2012 Camaro lineup. Of course it will be Emiril-ized, kicked up a notch and have at least 300 HP, which the Ecotech can easily handle or more...
That's if even if there still IS a GM and a Chevrolet brand in the world in 2011. Who knows but one would like to think Chevy would survive if GM declares a chapter 11.
