SS Heated Seat Mod?
I just looked up the wiring diagram for the factory heated seats in a 2006 HHR. There is a "heated seat controller" for each heated seat that takes the output from the factory switches, AND also a temperature feedback from the factory seat heaters. The controllers are probably pretty expensive and it's questionable if they would work without the temperature feedback (as most aftermarket heated seats don't have a temperature feedback). The controllers apply power to the seat heaters. So the factory switches DON'T provide the full amperage to the heaters, which means they may fail if wired directly to the seat heaters.
This info is for the 2006 MY, newer ones may be different.
I installed a set of seat heaters in my 99 Suburban and just wired them to +12V and ground.
If you want to use the factory switches, you could just use a standard automotive 30amp relay (auto parts stores for about $5). The other warning is that the factory switches may only be a "momentary" type that don't stay on, but only send a momentary signal to the controller that you want heat. I don't have the heated seats and can't look to see if the're momentary switches.

FWIW, I got a number from my salesman buddy(who i got my '08 SS thru) for a outside place that does this and other stuff. I figured it's prob better to let someone who is more experienced with this kind of job, to do it.Did not get a exact price for the install tho.
Plan on calling them soon, and set up a day to bring it over to them.
