I read somewhere on here about this issue and a possible bad ground at the radio antenna was causing it

That would be easy to check by putting in a CD. If it played then it is the antenna.. if it dosen't back to square one.

When mine crapped out it acted just like that. wouldn't work even with a cd though you could see it go through the tracks.

When it's not working, do you still hear the door chimes?

If not, you have a bad ground somewhere. They should not have has to mess with the antenna at all, but that is where the main ground is for the radio. If they shorted out any of the grounds for the HU though, you'll lose the sound.

Just an update on the 07 Steering wheel bezel.

I placed my order for the bezel at the dealership on June 1st. After the parts department kept telling me it wasnt available yet, I opened a case with GM customer complaint hotline. After a week they informed me that the part was cancelled by the vendor and a new part number was just issued. The next thing she said I couldnt beleve. She said "And this part is not available yet either" I have to wait again Waiting more than 120days for a plastic part is rediculouse ....

06 parts work perfectly on 07

Another success story-I have an 07 and I bought the "2006" parts from the beginning of the thread-mainly because I didn't finish reading all the posts about the differences in 06/07. I had to match up the new harness with the existing harness on the cruise control side exactly as shown in post #394. The radio side however I did not have to change anything. I initially swapped the 1 and 4 as in post #394 and the radio did not work so I swapped it back to original and it worked perfectly. I may be confused but I did not have to swap 1 and 4 on the radio side.

The main theme of my post is that the 06 parts work on 07s-but you will have to match up wires with the old harness. The bezel is a different color and the 06 switches are lower profile than 07. The led color is same.

I actually like the 06 switches and bezel better so now I may try and buy the 06 cruise side bezel and switch rather than spray paint the bezels to match.

Thanks to all with the heads up on this and Deb's instructions were perfect.

I hope this helps people out because this thread is huge and can be confusing to those of us who are mechanically declined.

Talking

WHOO HOOO !
Finally my 07 Silver audio bezel arrived at the dealer today. After 5 months and about 30 calls between me the dealer and Customer service hotline they finally sent the part.
Heres the funny part. To get the part they had to send the whole complete steering wheel and remove it! HAHA ! Now the dealer was sitting on a new steering wheel. He was hoping they would give him $150 credit at the end of the month for it?
I had to re-pin the wire harness connectors as stated in post #394....Thanks for that info. Works great !

Cheers !
