Finally got around to fixing my horn after I pulled a bone head... Let me be a lesson to anyone down the line that does this mod - TAKE YOUR TIME - and understand the steps before you start ripping wires out.. I was tired and rushed, and ended up pulling out my horn wires... Anyway, here is a pic of my repaired horn wiring... Not too difficult to do if you make a mistake, just a major pain in the a$$.....

Ok, so which is the correct part #..?
I ordered part #25816514 from GM Parts Direct and it looks exactly like the part I was going to remove.
So then I did some reading on here and I found someone said it was part # 15234343

Anyone know for sure which is the correct part? Did GM Parts just send the wrong part?

Ok, so I got part # 15234343 and it looks correct. I pulled everything apart and hooked everything up. However it doesn't control the volume, for that matter, nothing works anymore. Are we sure you don't need a flash from the dealership?

Did you read the ENTIRE thread (all 77 pages)? There are a couple of places mentioning wire color mis matches, they seem to have changed the connector codes sometime. You only need to match the colors in the Male to the Female. And a few other non success stories. Not even getting into "start ripping wires out" causing other problems, those controls are not simple on/off switches anymore they are computer control signals.

That is correct..there are two wires that need positions swapped to work correctly..other then that its a plug and play...the turn signal connector is the one you need to be careful with.. a few here have had to replace the signal switch..

I have read pretty much this whole thread AND done the conversion. Some people had to swap a couple of wires but mine was absolutely plug and play, I have an '09. No wires to swap, Murphy must have been helping someone else that day.

Sorry, I read pretty much all of this post a while back... I started to re-read it and started to become cross-eyed.... But thanks for the info, I will pull the wheel apart again and have a look at the wire colors.. For something I thought was going to be simple, I seem to keep running into a problem.. Hopefully Murphy is taking the weekend off.. :)

This has been a interesting thread, but I just don't have the stone's to do it lol. wish one of you guys lived closer ..But who know I may grow the berries to try it one day :)

It is not dangerous or even exciting, you just need a good sense of feel to get the airbag tabs pushed.
