Sunroof quick fix (for those without warranty coverage)
No warning signs of any kind given when mine just snapped upon opening.
Used Wind Deflector
I am still looking for a used factory wind deflector or part. Mine broke off on the driver's side. So, either one that is fully intact, or one that broke on the passenger side, would allow me to be functional again after sunroof rail replacement repair (without having to buy a totally new deflector from Chevy). I plan to have the dealer do the TSB repair in July.
Does the fix work?
I just had mine fixed - but they only fixed the affected side, and left the other side alone. Has anyone had this fix done by the dealer and did they fix just one side, or both? Has anyone had the sunroof FAIL TWICE?
My passenger side arm broke off so I followed the directions and took the screen off completely. THe problem is that the back part of the sunroof won't raise up enough to seal properly so I get leakage from the roof. Did anyone esle have that problem - any ideas? Help I live in Wyoming with the snow. Thanks
You could also try to repair it. A bracket that holds the windscreen arm has a part number 20794829 and it costs $4.41 here:

The only problem is - the screws which hold it. The evil GM engineers put a one-of-a-kind screws there, with rounded holes and just a little notch on the side. Impossible to remove with a Phillips or hex screwdrivers. GRRR!
The other option is to find or manufacture a small metal hook and somehow attach it there so it will hold the windscreen arm.. My HHR has same problem and the dealer has quoted me $450. Ehm.. no thank you. I also noticed that a second bracket is just about to crack. Why, oh why, did they put PLASTIC parts there..

I pulled my factory windscreen off and replaced it with a stick on plastic windscreen as shown in the how to section, which is where I got the idea. It works fine and eliminates some of the noise from the original
