I've got your future HHR, a 2009 LS 2.2 liter. I've had it about 14 months now. I bought it with about 45,000, maybe put 10,000 miles on it. My first one and I'm really happy with it. I got it for a great price from a GM dealer and it was a GM Certified vehicle. The recalls/campaigns were up to date at the time of purchase, and I only had a couple issues in the year I've driven it. I had a driver door speaker go out right away. On my last maintenance visit before the year warranty expired, I asked them to look at the wheel bearings because of excessive road noise. These trucks have a fair amount of road noise to begin with, but if those wheel bearings were making any noise I wanted it done under warranty. They told me the noise was from the tires, which I believe (Kelly Charger. Very noise tire). They did identify the lower control arm bushings as worn, so they replaced them. I thought 50,000 miles was a bit soon for that, but it's done. They also noticed my transmission lines were leaking, so they replaced them, also under warranty. So there my couple items in the first 50,000 or so miles of my HHR's life. I wish it had a little more storage up front, and the hatch is too small to put a 4x4 piece of anything through, but I got spoiled by the van I drove prior to buying the HHR.

 

I have a 2011 2LT with 127,xxx on the odo after 4 years and 110,xxx news paper miles most reliable vehicle i have used. Throttle body at 20,000 miles and reverse band in trans at 97,000.xx.. Other than that gas tires and oil. Love this little wagon so much just bought a second one.
