This article is about cobalt electric power steering failure, but I figured it might be good info for the HHR world to be aware of.

I call BS on that story. First off he states he had to buy an entire column to get a used motor. WTF?

Second he states GM has never heard of it, yet GM recalled them in September of 2010 and the story is dated TODAY.

Third, he states there is no refund for previous repairs before the recall. BS, the reimbursement form is provided with the customer letter.

Fourth, he states the repair is $3500. LMAO to replace a column, which the old motor would be transferred to is around $900 parts and labor. The motor I believe is about $100 for the part.

He may be right as to what causes the problem. But everything else he states are falsehoods. Typical internet story I guess.

It might be worth some DIY info for a repair.
