I'm wrecked and so is the Paddy-Wagon.
Back in about ‘06 I got to meet a nice young girl who had just gotten her drivers license 4 weeks before.
Evidently she cut class or was asleep or texting others when they covered what to do when you pull up to a stop light with a turn arrow on it. You know, the part about how through oncoming traffic has the right of way.
I was rolling up across the intersection from her when the green light lit on her side, not the green arrow, just the regular green light. If it had been the arrow on her side I would have had a red light.
Mario Andretti would have been proud of her as she gunned her POS KIA away from the stop line trying to beat me through the intersection.
I had no option but to hit her in the passenger side rear almost dead on the wheel.
My ‘89 Neon was totaled she had a flat tire and some bent tin around the wheel well.
She was ticketed and with the zero tolerance thing here in Illinois she had to take a state drivers course and eventually got a special probational license. I’m pretty sure her insurance company dropped both her and her dad and she had to get the RS232 state issued {very expensive} insurance for like two years in order to even get the limited license. But she is driving a nearly new Focus nowadays.
Having once owned and operated a body shop of my own I know my little buggy could have been fixed but her insurance company said it was totaled. Then they only offered me the book price for a repairable wreck not the Kelly Blue Book price.
After nearly 16 months of them putting me off completely I grudgingly accepted what they offered, we took the money and put it toward the ‘04 Neon. It was a bad enough impact that the transaxle was broken and there was transmission juice all over the intersection but the airbag did not deploy which I though was strange.
My right shoulder got messed up and my already messed up back got worse. Her insurance company denied all my medical bills since I have documented back problems already.
I probably could have gone to court but I decided to let my insurance fight it out with them. I personally only paid my deductible.

Well its been an interesting time since Friday morning when a misguided drunk tried to drive through me and the Paddy-Wagon. I'm one hurting puppy right now with some things working very painfully, and some things that won't go at all. But like they say, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
My presence here will be reduced a good bit over the next few days/weeks as I recuperate and deal with possible surgery on my leg, but I will pop in and be my usual demented self when my loving wife allows me out of her site long enough to "goof around" on the computer.
So to all of my many friends here on the forum, I'd like to wish you and yours the most Merry Christmas possible.
I hope you all have the very best day today filled with family and love....and that Santa got you everything you asked for.
