It's good to hear the procedure went well. You two should try to get some rest, you need it. Think your Mom will be challenging the traffic police in Kannapolis in your challenger soon !!

Had to get up and move around/stretch so I thought I'd let you all know that things are going well. The doctors are planning on removing the breathing tube this afternoon so she'll be more comfortable and able to talk. Right now we're all in "Zombie" mode due to a lack of sleep and I know that once Mom is able to talk, she'll cajole us into behaving ourselves and getting some rest tonight.

The prognosis is guarded right now, the chances of a recurrence will be the highest in the next 24-36 months, we've been down this road before though and Mom is a fighter. Well that's all for now, your thoughts and prayers mean so much to us, thank you so very much. Take care everyone.

Well the breathing tube is out, and Mom is as grumpy as can be, so I think she'll be fine. The doctors had her in a chair for a bit this afternoon which surprised me, but these days they probably get people up and around right after a head transplant.

Had to come down to the cafeteria to update y'all on the laptop and grab a burger. Almost hate to admit it, but this place has pretty decent food for a hospital, who would expect that?

Missing NC and feeling like a broken pretzel from the uncomfortable chairs here, but things are looking positive.

Dressing change, nurse threw us out of the room, cafeteria coffee slowly working to wake me up. Looks like Mom might be sprung from intensive care today and moved to a private room, she's doing good but is now getting bored by hospital life.

Found a Kathy Reichs book in the gift shop that Mom hasn't read yet, boredom and grumpiness levels now down to normal. Back down in the cafeteria now where Michelle just pronounced the salmon "quite good", not sure but it might mean we're more exhausted than we actually think. Still expecting a transfer from the ICU to a private room later today, it'll help Mom recover since you can't hear yourself think up in the ICU at times. I can see why the nurses are kinda shell shocked by the end of their shifts, with how vigilant they have to be in caring for the patients, and those miserable dang machines that squeal and squawk every ten seconds.
