A quick update on my Mom...
#31
And she's home! Been back for an hour now and Mom is all settled in, its good to see the last of that hospital. Once the visiting nurse starts in the morning and we get some rest for a day, it'll be time to gather up our cats and cram our stuff in the rental HHR for the trip back to NC. Thanks to everyone here for the kind thoughts and prayers.

Just came across your posts, glad to hear your mother is going home. I know how ICUs and hospitals can be, spent too much time in one myself when my father was there.
I'm sure being home in a more comfortable environment will do your mother well. Just make sure she doesn't feel it necessary to try and do housework too soon. I hope things go well and she can get back to a normal life again soon.

She's doing really well Chevy13, she's a fighter and never backs down from anything. The biggest deal for her now is recovering and getting her strength back. She's annoyed at not being able to drive for another 8-10 weeks, but that's OK since her Vette broke down on me and is currently sitting at the dealer waiting on parts.

Bad crank position sensor according to the dealer, dang thing just shut down on me, thought I was going to have to sleep in it overnight waiting for the dealer's flatbed to come. I might bring it up to our place while she recovers, that way it'll get driven a bit and I can try the Dr. Colorchip on the stone chipped nose.

I hear ya, when my back was broken in 2006 I was off the road for five months, nearly lost my mind completely. You just don't realize how big a part of your life driving really is, until you have to hang up the keys.
