Victory Day

Hi guys.
Today is a great day. May 9, 1945 Fascist Germany signed the act of surrender. The ridge of Nazism was broken, the Soviet army captured Berlin and put an end to this terrible war.
Shortly before this, the Red banner of victory was hoisted above the dome of the Reich Chancellery. Hitler, Goebels and some other smaller "fuhrers" at the same time committed suicide in the basement of the Reich Chancellery when the Russian artillery smashed the upper floors, and hand-to-hand fights were taking place in the corridors and offices.
We have a great holiday in our country today. We honor our veterans, some of them are still alive. But we remember everyone, living and dead. This is the genetic memory of our entire people - each family, without exaggeration, has its own victorious heroes and soldiers who participated in this war. 20 million Soviet citizens died in battles with the Nazis. These are huge losses, for example, the modern population of Sweden is only 10 million people.
In this war, the Soviet Union and the United States were allies - which is why I congratulate you guys on this site.
This is our common holiday, although in the USA it is not customary to celebrate as it should.
I urge you guys to remember your soldiers, your heroes. Remember their names today.
Eternal glory, eternal memory, eternal respect and gratitude for saving the world.
