And here the oil spill in the gulf to him is "nothing".
Call different oil change places around you and ask, I called a Walmart near me and they take it at no charge. There is a Oil Delivery (fuel oil and such) Co close to me that takes it for free also, and another small auto garage that will take it and burns it in their modified oil furnace to heat the building in the winter. If BP reads your post I guess they could blame your father for the oil on the beaches down there.

Local Advanced Auto Parts takes it here, no charge.... they turn it in for recycle. I never called around for others but would imagine many do........ Don't pay, it should be free.

I had forgotten about Advance Auto Parts. We have an Auto Zone here with an Advance Auto Parts store across the road, but as far as ease of getting to without getting whacked and spun around by people doing fifty-five in a 35 mph zone, is to go to Auto Zone.

Towns up here will also take it for free at their recycling centers...You just bring the container there and dump it into their tank or just leave it and they dump it in for you. Since the tank is locked after business hours, I fill up old detergent containers with the used oil and leave them there for them to dump.

Oh yeah

I have had my sweet ride for almost 3 months. DIC is down to 38% and I have been thinking about doing it myself...After reading all the posts I know what my daughter will be helping me with this weekend...
Now I just need to decide on Mobil 1 or Royal Purple....
I have heard great things about both...looked at the local NAPA the other day and there was about a .50 difference a QT...
ANY suggestions? one better than the other?

Just changed the oil on an HHR yesterday, first time I did one myself, its a big help when you can call in a favor and borrow a garage bay with a lift. Now if I can just buy out the twits downstairs I can punch a car sized hole in the garage ceiling and install a lift of my own, hmmmmmm.
