UPDATE:
ok, so i'm kinda embarrassed to admit this, but turns out the 'culprit' was a spacer ring from the aftermarket wheel that was left behind in the swap to the winter steelies.

in my defense, however, i was not told about this spacer when picking up my ride with the "made for HHR" wheels, and really didn't see it when i was swapping.

but, now that i know, i'll pay more attention when changing for the seasons!

"hub-centric spacer" I'm thinking..

Good that you can roll now with your wheels tight & true..

At least it's something simple... It's not gonna cost you anything to fix. And it's not something serious like defective studs. That's good news in my book!

Is it the "hub-centric spacer" or these "stud clips" shown in Photo C in the following link?

..and detailed in the "Attention" section of the text.

Well that explains things bowtieboy, at least you didn't have a "wheel off", that will ruin your day.

The spacer rings look like this(see pic)Sno White, some are natural aluminum, and some are black, which would make them hard to spot if you didn't suspect they were still on the hubs.

I wondered if you had left something out on this on us or that your neighbor was coming over in the middle of the night with a lug wrench and hated you.

I suprised you did not have a bad wobble.
