So I have had this noise since I posted this. Today, I replace a broken spark plug and, lo and behold, the ticking nosie was GONE. Why would a broken spark plug be causing a noise like that I wonder? With no secondary electrode to arc off of, I bet that spark was just arcing either off the plug itself or the cylinder wall! YIKES! Still, no performance issues that I noticed but sure is more quite now. Will update (if people are interested). So for future readers, If you have a new ticking noise, although most likely extremely rare, it could be a plug! Who knew!

I ran a plug with a broken whisker for a while, didn't even affect MPG. That was when I learned not to try adjusting Iridium plugs.

Same noise // 2.4

Hello! My chevy hhr 2009 is currently making that noise but it’s only while I am driving not while the car is parked and running. Did anyone come to any conclusions as to what it could be? I’m clueless. Thank you in advance.
