How is DEXOS different from Mobil one? Other than of course DEXOS puts more profits into GM. If you were to use Mobil one in a 2011, would that be a warrantee breaker?

Laco, from reading research, it seems that M1 just needs to be certified by GM Dexos. Pennzoil platinum synthetic 'exceeds' GM Dexos standards and is GM Dexos approved. I was going to go synthetic on my next oil change but now I'll just make sure to buy Pennzoil Platinum for it then.

If you had an oil related engine failure, GM could deny the warranty, at least according to this article..

But Snoopy & ChevyMgr would have better answers them I do on this..

Not a fan of Mobile 1, being in the F body community we get a lot of people that are WAAAAAY to into their oil but one thing that has come down the line of the years is the quality of Mobile 1 has gone down hill. One that people tend to eat up is Real German Castrol.

IMO I always have ran Dino oil and on case of older cars a Syn Blend.

5w-30 or 10w-30 depending on my mood and If it be Dino I do like Moble Clean 5000 and for the Blend I go with Valvoline Max Life. If I can dig up any reports, I will post about it.

[QUOTE=T 20;527691]Gentlemen,
I've had my panel just a little over a year. It only has 5K on it so far. The oil indicator says 50%. Because I drive a lot of short trips, I feel like I should change the oil in it now to get all of the initial 'crud' flushed out. It seldom gets less than 32° where I live, up to 100° at times.
Sooo, what weight Mobile 1 oil should I use? I plan to change it every time it gets to 75% on the indicator from now on...

Note body color headlights & no front bumper 'tits'

Thanks for your input..Why would you change your oil when it got down to 75%??? Do you like spending money and wasting time??? Like seriously what are you thinking??? Who are you listening to???

5W30, as the manufacturer recommends. The engine was designed for that.
