I don't remember who I bought mine from, but the instructions said to put it on the light. When I decided that I didn't like it, I made a new one with electrical tape, a stencil that i made and a razor knife. (also on the light).

I wouldn't mind seeing how that looks... where were you able to find a roll wide enough? how'd you make your stencil? doesn't the tape soften with the heat from the lamp?

I used two strips. I'll try to get the little lady assist me in taking a picture tomight after she gets offa work. Also, it's about 6 or 7 months old now. The light isn't ON long enough to get hot at any given time.

You can also get custom decals to say whatever you want (within reason) at such sites as http://custombrakelights.com. When I get mine installed, I'll send out a pic.

This is a cool and easy mod it looks like. Thanks for the link to that site.

I think I may get one to say "CHIEF" on the brakelight.

For those of you who did this, how do you pull off the interior trim piece? I dont want to pull the wrong way and break it.
Do you open the hatch and pull down directly away from the glass, or do you pull it with hatch closed down along the glass?

Well I did exactly what the how to said to do and I ended up breaking a tab off. Not a big deal as the center ones hold the trim piece in good enough. I went with one that goes directly on the brake light itself. Paying homage to my Italian heritage, I had to go with BADA BING! It looks killer!

Helpful Hint...

After I removed mine, I added a bit of good ol' Petroleum Jelly to each tab to allow an slightly easier removal if I ever change mine and decide to remove it again...
