fuel door design flaw?
Where's the fun in that Stephen? I like the built in "Senility" check that comes with remembering that the gas cap is on the roof, if you hear it rolling off when you leave the gas station....there goes your gold star for the day.
I don't need one.. I'm doing mental excersizes in remembering to take the cap off the roof, before I drive off.. LOL
Yes the 50's Caddys had it right, like the 1956, push the red reflector & the tail light popped up exposing the gas cap..
In 1948 when I bought my 32 Ford 3 window it had less than 5000 miles gas was $0.12 per gallon we could cash in coke bottles 2 cents each and get enough gas to go to the beach, oh for the good ole days.
stolen fuel?
Hi.
I believe all autos today have a wire coil to prevent access to the siphon hose.

I was really surprised when I went to fuel the 09 for the first time and found there is no inside release, just a push on the door. With gas price$ what they are, I have a fear (founded or unfounded) of losing fuel to the siphon hose. Is there something in the design of the filler neck to prevent one from siphoning gas out of the filler opening?
