HHR - Buick Bijou Super Progress
Thank you Mike!
By "Dagmars" are you referring to the chrome bullets? If so, they came from Summit Racing. They are actually center caps for Ford truck wheels.
I will be accenting the sweep spear with chrome that will go right across the front door handles :)

Yup, I was referring to the chrome bullets Ben.
Pointy chrome bumper bullets got nicknamed "Dagmars" back in the early fifties because of a well endowed B-Movie actress/TV Hostess/Straight Woman named Virginia Ruth Egnor who went by the name "Dagmar".

A good use of center caps, I was wondering what you'd repurposed.

Ben
A thought just occurred to me. If/when you get pulled over by the police
------- how will you explain a Buick with an HHR tiltle?

Ben, give me your mailing address as I have something I want to mail to you. richboyd (at) Frontier.com
Boydie
[QUOTE=Benjiwah;747909]Okay, this is still very rough and will look like quite a mess, but it should give a little better visual of the direction that I am taking the rear of the car.

I am reluctant to comment for fear of self incrimination..LOL . Maybe someone more versed in the law could weigh in
I have seen lots of old rat rods through the years that didn't look like the car the title said they were. I don't really know if this will cause me problems. I did however have a couple of officers approach me at a gas station the other night to ask me what it was. They seemed to really dig what I have done with it so far and told me they couldn't wait to see it finished. I suppose I could always get pulled over by some overzealous Barney Fife and get a ticket... LOL
I will send you my mailing address Boydie.
Thank you for pointing out the potential legal ramifications of registering this "Buick" and your friendship :)

As far as the state and your DMV are concerned Ben, it is, and always will be a Chevrolet HHR.
Even if it were a complete write off, or theft recovery, the state would assign it a "reconstructed" title as a Chevrolet.
Think of its Buick identity as its stage name or "nom de road". After all, stage names are just aliases, everybody knows Tom Cruise, but have they heard of Thomas C. Mapother IV?

It all makes logical sense.... But can I get ticketed for the car not being easily identified for what it is? I would think that as long as my vin# matches my registration, I should be good.
