Oldblue, you might want to hold off on your guesses until Mike reveals his contest... I'd hate to see you guess correctly and spoil the fun... LOL
Boydie, thanks for the second surprise from you in less than a week! I just received the hood ornament you sent me and appreciate it very much!!!
And that Buick truck truly is something special!

Well as my progress has been slowly inching forward, I have decided to primer the car in a two tone to get a better feel for how the lines will look once it's painted two tone. Still pretty rough with more fiberglass layers and blocking out to go. What do you guys think?

Thanks Oldblue! As soon as I read, "as Supertramp sang" I thought you were going to say Take the Long Way Home! LOL
bowtieboy68, Thanks!
In the late 40's through the mid 50's, long before Pontiac became the excitement division, it was the Buicks that sported the aggressive, eat you alive styling.
Thank you Grizzly old man! Uniform color sure does make it look much better than the blotchy mess that it was sporting.

Just curious; will you spray the color coat yourself or hire it done?
Personally I would not use the factory paint. Why? You can't polish the factory paint because of the clear coats. I would paint it with lacquer or enamel.
You have to polish lacquer to get a shine but you can wheel out scratches if/when you get them.
Enamel is not my favorite but it will produce a shine without polishing and you can polish it if need be.
The factory paint is probably the easiest though One color coat and at least 2 clear coats.
Now I haven't sprayed a car since the late 1980s so what do I know.

Boydie, there is little chance that I will spray the color myself because I have never done that before. But I have never made car body panels before this project either, so I won't say there's no chance.. Just little chance. I think that is probably something better left to the professionals.
