Sorry not my cup of tea but I don't have a ss.
That looks great on a ss not a lt I feel
I looked at those cheaply priced hoods the
Reason I went with the $100 hood is the low profile
And the way the 3m tape is in a hidden piece
On the side far under the hood making it to me worth
The extra $

As far as the scoop looks that comes Down to personal preference.
To answer the op.
If it is just for looks use 3m tape.then If you really like it a month later then I would cut a hole trying not to hit the braces.
I would also try to seal the air box to the scoop.
What is Dave's handle that dual bump cowl induction scoop is awesome.
Looks like a twin Turbo small block Chevy is hiding under there.

the cowled hood looks nice...That would cost some money. although my brother can do the fiberglass and paint, I still need an extra hood because my SS is my DD

Imperial Blue is a very dark blue. It's close to black.

I thought the same thing when I was lurking around here reading posts before I got my Imperial Blue Metallic LT. I've had many people mistake it for a black one at night. If it's not in the light, it does look black. One of the things that drew me to my HHR....

I personally like my VIN sticker under my OE hood, and replacement hoods don't cost $10 like this scoop .

I kinda like moon's hood scoop, if I wanted to have a hood scoop it would be the one he's got.
