Seat attachment
How are the front seat attached to the floorpan on our SS's? I see bolts in the back, but what about the front? I'd like to raise the front or lower the rear to get a bit more thigh support..............

If you find a good(and safe) way to lower the back of the seat, please post it here. I got a junkyard HHR seat bar:it is the bar that stretches from door to door and the back of the seats bolt to.Have not figured out the best way to modify this bar. I would like to drop the rear of the drivers seat 1-2 inches. I know there could be safety issues so I guess thats why I haven't tried anything yet.

Looks like it might be easier to put spacers under the front rather than trying to lower the rear.

If you have access to a small mig welder, cut the bar at each end, weld a 1 to 2 inch plate onto the bar and re-weld the ends at the top giving you the desired "drop" in the back. If you mess it up, the just yards are full of spares to replace it.
