The OBD2 P0315 test look at the ECM memory position that is supposed to be filled with the variation data. The code sets if there is no data; it does not check for valid data just any data incorrect data can cause P0300 along with the timing chain. The data is inserted when the learn process is completed. The test runs constantly.
There are 3 other CKP codes that the click bait producers might confuse. I think they see P0300 in the information about P0315 and don't actually read .
