2011 water leak passenger side
I have a 2011 HHR. There is water leaking from the bottom corner of the glove box near the side wall kick plate. It only happens when it rains. The first time it leaked was about a month ago during a heavy rainstorm and it has done it during every heavy rain since then. The floor gets soaked to the point where it takes days to dry even after sucking the water out with the shop vac a few times.
As a 2011, there is no butyl patch. My car does not have a sunroof, so plugged drains cannot be the issue. I have already siliconed the base of the wiring harness that runs from the fender to the passenger door. The deck cowl under the hood is in good shape. All of the foam seals around the deck cowl seem to be in good shape. The windshield was replaced four years ago, but is has never leaked. As I said, this leaking started a month ago.
Any ideas about where the leak might be coming from and how to fix it?

I’m gonna go with the seal at the wire harness, if not properly installed silicone doesn’t stick to it so good.
try a trough to divert the water in front of the fender
Like this from Oldblue
Passenger side, see how the water is diverted
Just a 3/8 inch trough , I bent up a Soda can and used 3M double sided molding tape
Here’s a better shot of the drivers side and the front of the trough, up here it keeps water from causing ice dams in the door hinge area and the wiring harness boot area.

If you use the defroster the AC is on. Could be the windshield has a weak spot in the seal that just gave up. Could be leaves under the cowl directing water to the air intake, check the cabin air filter for moisture.
