He could be barking up the wrong tree so to speak.
Get those codes pulled. Even if the CEL isn’t on there may be some stored codes.
You are very right and I will be doing that as soon as i can get the chance to do so. My living situation allows me only limited movement until December, I'm in a damn halfway house with mostly time out to only go to work. Sorry to put my business out there like that but I'm just trying to do what I can and am limited to. Occasionally I get a little time after work to do simple fixes. When I get the chance with my limited movement to go to a place to get the codes pulled I will then post them...until then...
ttyt
and thank you all for the help you've given me so far
BTW I checked the abs wires under neath and they seem intact

Yeah, This isn't the first discussion here to get like that. My comment was not to advocate for changing the solenoids, but rather, if you're gonna do it here's what to think about. I try to stick to what I think I know. Theres's hardly ever enough info for a diagnosis, anyway, so it's maybe this, maybe that, which can be helpful, but don't put too much stock in it.

I've got 129000 on this so I might as well change them anyways. Since I don't have the time or place to do the timing chain I'm going to have a shop do it and that's when I'll be able to get the codes read but it's going to be awhile.

A little off the subject but just got a quote for timing chain replacement, holy s***...see below

I'd sell this before I pay that amount.

That is cause you took mechanical work to a muffler shop! I change a timing chain , balance shaft chain and water pump in about 4 hours, the Cloyes kit with water pump is just over $210.00 CDN

It’s not a hard job just take your time and if you get stuck check our how to section!

You can buy the parts from GM parts for less than $840.

Yeah I like those prices a lot better, when I have the time and place I'll do it myself. Also got to get more tools cuz mine all got stolen awhile back and I'm just barely rebuilding my tool kit again. I think I have almost all of the ones I need though now.

Thanks guys. Will be getting my codes read next week for the abs light thing that I started this whole thread about.
